Our Owners

Bà Nà Hill Vietnamese Cuisine is owned by Maurice and Shayla D’Olive who are both passionate about food. Having owned other businesses for more than 20 years, Mr. D’Olive has gained invaluable insights that have helped him in managing their restaurant. Mrs. D’Olive originally from Vietnam inspired her husband to help bring Vietnamese food to Brenham. Together, her knowledge of the cuisine and her husband's extensive business background helped create Bà Nà Hill Vietnamese Cuisine for Brenham!

Behind Our Name

The name was inspired by Bà Nà Hills. It is a hill station and resort found in the Truong Son Mountains, located west of Da Nang in Central Vietnam. Mr. And Mrs. D’Olive loved the French rooted settlement so much that they decided that this should be the name used for their restaurant.

What Is Pho?

Pho is Vietnam’s national dish. It is served around the world with different variations depending on the location. In the past, the Vietnamese locals took the beef bones French chefs discarded and created a rich and flavorful broth out of them. Afterward, rice noodles and slices of beef were added to the soup. The result is the dish we now call pho.
